Inspired by a mount from a shield which belonged to king Raedwald of East Anglia.
The front of the shield was decorated with gilded emblems, including a bird-of-prey with a cruel beak and talons, and a six-winged dragon with snapping jaws. They evoke qualities like strength and courage which were appropriate to the shield’s bearer, and may also have been seen as protective.
This torc is made from twisted sterling silver wire and sterling silver terminals cast from our hand sculpted model. The eyes are set with red garnets. Please leave a note with your order stating your wrist size to ensure a good fit - if you'd like the torc to be bigger so that the heads overlap, please lets us know. A torc of an average size will be sent if no note is left.
Due to hallmarking laws in the UK this piece will require hallmarking which we always do at Edinburgh assay office. This takes time and there is a minimum order charge from the assay office so we usually send these in batches once every week or fortnight, hence why we have a long wait time. If the order is urgent please let us know and we will see what we can do to get it to you quicker.
All our packaging is 100% paper. No plastic at all.
