Ostrogothic fibula based on one in the National Museum of Sarajevo. Sand cast in solid sterling silver (fully hallmarked by Edinburgh Assay office) with heavy hand engraving and set with two garnet cabochons before being 18kt gold plated. A truly unique piece with a lot of work. Pin is 1.5mm Sterling silver wire that has been twisted into a similar pattern as brooches of this period usually had.
