Based on a 7th-8th century brooch found in Clough, (Antrim) Northern Ireland which is currently at the British Museum in London. The brooch itself is similar to mould fragments found in Dunadd Hillfort which would have been in the ancient Gaelic kingdom of Dal Riata in Western Scotland.
Hand carved to a close study of all available information of the brooch and then wax cast in high quality with the amber hand set and the brooch hand finished.
Please note, you are buying a handmade piece of jewellery and we will not always have it in stock and I may require some time to make it!
If you want this in other materials such as gold please email me for a quote at caledonianforge@gmail.com We are always open to alter and change any of our pieces to suit your tastes. In the listing the piece might look darker than the finished piece. We artificially darken our silver pieces with liver of sulfur so that the details will show up in photographs but as standard the finished piece will be shiny and polished. If you'd prefer us to darken it then please let us know and we will happily do this for you.
All our packaging is 100% paper. No plastic at all.
If you are buying this from the UK, by law due to the weight it must be hallmarked. This service will take up to an additional two weeks. - Furthermore, sometimes we will have this piece already hallmarked if it is already made, so if you do not wish this to be hallmarked, please let us know
