Part of our Ancient rings of Scotland collection.
Based on a broken ring fragment from Iona and now in the National Museum of Scotland. (See final photo). It has parallels in Pictish, Saxon and Irish cultures but the origin of the ring's manufacture is not known for sure.
This ring is made in two parts with the central detail gold plated and set with a glass cabochon before being riveted in place with 2 silver rivets. We can also make the central boss in solid gold, please enquire for more details. Due to the complicated nature of this ring we will require up to two months for production.
Please note pieces in silver that weigh over 7.78 grams will require hallmarking by UK law, and we always have our gold pieces hallmarked. This will add roughly an additional 2-4 weeks to production time unless we have it in stock already. We normally use large hallmarks that stand out, always on the reverse of one sided pendants, the side of double sided pendants or the inside of rings or bracelets. If you would like them to be more subtle please let us know.
