Large gold plated bronze brooch based on an early medieval "brooch" from Oppdal, Norway but probably originated in Ireland. The brooch likely originally would have been an Insular reliquary fitting but was repurposed by Vikings. 6.5cm tall.
Set with vintage gold foil backed glass cabochons in the eyes
