Birnie, a thriving Iron Age settlement was abandoned around AD 250 at a time of turmoil in Moray - possibly caused by Roman diplomatic interference, with the new wealth of silver coins destabilising local politics. There were no Pictish finds from the excavations apart from a fragment of an eighth century bronze pin...

The last photo shows the original fragment next to a replica at the Elgin museum.

This has been carved by myself from wax and then sandcast in my home workshop and finished with a mixture of power tools and traditional hand tools like files and saws with a pin hand forged from scrap copper wire and all gold plated.

All our packaging is 100% paper. No plastic at all.
