Part of our "Ancient Rings of Scotland" collection.

Based on a Pictish early medieval ring bezel found by a metal detectorist in the Montrose area, Scotland. The original ring bezel has no stone remaining in its setting but as it has close parallels with the now famous Burghead ring the default stone I will set is a garnet but by request I can source alternative stones depending on cost. Please enquire before purchase.

Please note that this ring is made to order and it may take us 1-2 weeks to cast if we don’t have it in stock and an additional 1-2 weeks for hallmarking if the ring is in silver or gold.

Also available as a pendant which comes with a free black cotton cord. We also have a separate listing with silver chains here if you desire.

If you want this in other materials email me at caledonianforge@gmail.com to ask for a quote! We are always open to alter and change any of our pieces to suit your tastes. In the listing the piece might look darker than the finished piece. We artificially darken our silver pieces with liver of sulphur so that the details will show up in photographs but as standard the finished piece will be shiny and polished. If you'd prefer us to darken it then please let us know and we will happily do this for you.

This has been sculpted by myself from epoxy putty and then cast in high quality by Jewellery Casting Scotland and finished with a mixture of power tools and traditional hand tools like files and saws.

All our packaging is 100% paper. No plastic at all.

Please note pieces in silver that weigh over 7.78 grams will require hallmarking by UK law, and we always have our gold pieces hallmarked. This will add roughly an additional 2-4 weeks to production time unless we have it in stock already. We normally use large hallmarks that stand out, always on the reverse of one sided pendants, the side of double sided pendants or the inside of rings or bracelets. If you would like them to be more subtle please let us know
