This pendant is a very close replica of an unusual gilded bronze Anglo Saxon/Insular or Pictish mount with an unknown purpose. It is possibly a reliquary fitting but your guess is as good as mine! It's clearly an angry looking bear in my opinion :)

Hand carved from wax and then cast in high quality silver or bronze. Inspired by the regular destruction and reuse as jewellery of British reliquary fittings by the Norse.

Please note, you are buying a handmade piece of jewellery and we will not always have it in stock and I may require some time to make it. We currently have 1 silver pendant in stock.

If you want this in other materials such as gold please email me for a quote at caledonianforge@gmail.com We are always open to alter and change any of our pieces to suit your tastes. In the listing the piece might look darker than the finished piece. We artificially darken our silver pieces with liver of sulphur so that the details will show up in photographs but as standard the finished piece will be shiny and polished. If you'd prefer us to darken it then please let us know and we will happily do this for you.

This has been carved by myself from wax and then cast in high quality by Jewellery Casting Scotland and finished with a mixture of power tools and traditional hand tools like files and saws. Available with a free choice of waxed cotton or leather cord. We also have a separate listing with silver chains here if you desire.

All our packaging is 100% paper. No plastic at all.

I will not hallmark silver in general and instead just stamp the reverse with my makers mark and .925 as it is below the legal requirement weight, but if you do desire full hallmarking from Edinburgh Assay office then please purchase the service HERE This service will take up to an additional two weeks. - Gold will be hallmarked as standard.
