Based on the intricate 7th-8th century Pictish penannular brooch found in Galway, Ireland, now housed in New York Metropolitan museum.
Hand carved to a close study of all available information of the brooch and then wax cast in high quality with the amber hand set and the brooch hand finished. Pin is sand cast. Note, the pin on the original is attached in a way that appears to be a bad repair and seems to be backwards so I have rotated the pin so it looks better. I believe the pin on the original is probably a replacement for a lost pin as it does not fit the style commonly on these brooches such as those in the St Ninian's treasure hoard.
Silver is hallmarked at Edinburgh Assay office.
Due to the weight of this piece in any solid (not plated) precious metal by law it must be hallmarked. This will take roughly an additional 2-4 weeks. we normally use large hallmarks that stand out, always on the reverse of one sided pendants, the side of double sided pendants or the inside of rings or bracelets. If you would like them to be more subtle please let us know
