Brigid's cross or Brigit's cross is a small cross usually woven from rushes. Typically it has four arms tied at the ends and a woven square in the middle. It is suggested that the cross has pre-Christian origins and is related to the sun cross. Double sided.

Bronze and silver options are in stock and ready to ship within 5 working days. Gold is available for pre-order in January 2025.

If you want this in other materials such as gold please email me for a quote at caledonianforge@gmail.com We are always open to alter and change any of our pieces to suit your tastes. In the listing the piece might look darker than the finished piece. We artificially darken our silver pieces with liver of sulfur so that the details will show up in photographs but as standard the finished piece will be shiny and polished. If you'd prefer us to darken it then please let us know and we will happily do this for you.

This has been carved by myself from wax and then cast in high quality by Jewellery Casting Scotland and finished with a mixture of power tools and traditional hand tools like files and saws. Available with a free waxed black cotton cord. We also have a separate listing with silver chains here if you desire.

All our packaging is 100% paper. No plastic at all.

I will not hallmark the silver version in general and instead just stamp the reverse with my makers mark and .925 as it is below the legal requirement weight, but if you do desire full hallmarking from Edinburgh Assay office then please purchase the service HERE This service will take up to an additional two weeks. - Gold will be hallmarked as standard. sometimes we will already have a piece in stock and hallmarked, if you don't want this please let us know
